At the west end of the Centre Block is the House of Commons Chamber. Decorated in the traditional green of the British House of Commons, this beautiful rectangular Chamber is constructed with Canadian white Oak, and limestone from Manitoba. Visible on the stone's surface are millions of fossils. The Chamber's ceiling is made of Irish linen which was hand-painted after it was installed. The Chamber has stained-glass windows that depict the floral emblems of Canada's ten provinces and the two territories. Below the windows are symbolic sculptures known as the British North America series. These sculptures depict many different themes from the time of Confederation.
